Double Chocolate Cardamom Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups butter, softened

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp. ground cardamom

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup Sunrise Baking Cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 
1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 
1/2 tsp. baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 
1/2 cup milk

  • 2 tbsp. water

  • 6 oz. (1 cup) Dark Chocolate Buttons

Directions

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar.Beat on high for five minutes, then add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. In a separate bowl, mix together cocoa, flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternating with milk and water until well mixed. Stir in chocolate buttons. Pour into to loaf pan greased and dusted with dark cocoa, and bake at 325 for 75 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cake rest in pan for 20 minutes, then turn onto cake rack to cool. Slice and serve.
