Chocolate Bread Pudding


  • 2 cups milk 
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 slices white bread, cubed
  • 1/3 cup Sunrise Baking Cocoa
  • 2 tbs butter, 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten


Scald milk. Remove from heat; add bread and beat until quite smooth. Add sugar, cocoa, and egg yolks. Beat until well blended. Add butter and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into an 8 inch square baking dish; set dish in a pan with about an inch of hot water.

Bake at 350° for 40 minutes, or until firm. Top with whipped cream and serve warm or cold. Serves 6-8.
