Chocolate Button Melt-A-Ways


  • 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 6 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 Tbsp confectioners sugar, sifted
  • 1 egg
  • 6 oz. Dark Chocolate Buttons, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 350° F.

Sift together flour and baking soda; set aside. Beat together butter and sugars. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Stir in Dark Chocolate Buttons. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for 13 minutes, or until light brown. Cool on racks. Makes about 50 cookies.
