Chopped Chocolate Button Scones


  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups (12 oz.) Dark Chocolate Buttons or Milk Chocolate Buttons, coarsely chopped


Lightly grease and flour two baking sheets.  Heat oven to 375° F.  Makes 18 scones.

Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.  Stir in chopped chocolate buttons.  Stir in whipping cream, just until ingredients are moistened.  Turn mixture out of bowl onto lightly floured surface.  Knead until soft dough forms (about 2 min.), then divide dough into three equal balls, and flatten each into a 7 inch circle.  Cut each into 6 triangles. Transfer triangles to prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until very lightly browned. Serve warm and enjoy!
