Holey Chocolate Waffles!


  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 3 ounces Baking Chocolate Buttons
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. instant coffee powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract


Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler or heatproof bowl over simmering water, whisking until smooth.  Remove from heat and let cool. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, coffee powder, and salt in large bowl.  Whisk together sugar, eggs, and milk in a medium bowl until smooth.  Add chocolate mixture to sugar and egg mixture until well mixed, then whisk in flour mixture. Bake according to manufacturer’s instructions.  Serve hot with whipped cream or ice cream and Brown Sugar Chocolate Sauce.
